ZURICH, Mar 2 (PRIME) -- Swiss company Nord Stream 2, the operator of the Nord Stream 2 project, will file for bankruptcy after U.S. sanctions, Silvia Thalmann-Gut, a representative for the Swiss canton of Zug, said in an interview with the SRF TV channel on Tuesday.
“The company must deposit the balance sheet (file for bankruptcy),” Thalmann-Gut said.
According to her, Nord Stream 2 became insolvent because of the U.S. sanctions imposed last week.
Although the company hasn’t yet filed for bankruptcy, Thalmann-Gut said that Nord Stream 2 has already dismissed all 106 of its employees.
